For those of you that know me, you know that I love to fill out my brackets for March Madness. The last couple of years I have brought it into my classroom. I have had each of my students fill out a bracket and I have entered it into ESPN. I make sure to teach them the "lingo." I teach them what each of the numbers stand for. How the teams are matched up together and how if a lower seed, which is a higher number beats a higher seed which is a lower number it is called an UPSET. This year, it has been pretty fun! Last Thursday, when it all started I had the computer on ESPN during Art. When they were done with their project they were able to go check scores on the different games. Here are some fun things that happened...

At one point I had about five kids standing around the computer, every so often one of them would update me on the score. "Mrs. Walker, there is only 30 seconds left and so and so is in the lead." Then anothe student, a girl, who really doesn't know much about basketball came up to me and said, "Mrs. Walker if Murray St. wins it is going to be SUCH AN UPSET! HUGE UPSET!!" I am so glad that I can teach them ALL they need to know about life.

Last story from THIS day, there will most likely be more about March Madness to come....
At the end of the day Thursday, four games had completed. One of my girls ran up to me and shouted, "Mrs. Walker, I have three of the four correct. I AM A GENIUS!!!!!!!"

Oh, I love March Madness!
